Anxiety

Anxiety

Too long she's huddled in her fort, afraid.

Wolf at the window,
puma at the door,
she shrugs on armor,
shoulders a crossbow,
then steps out, cries out
a challenge to fear,
holding courage near;
her bolts strike down doubt.

She walks away, free of her self-made cage.
